The wine cellar at the Muckross Park Hotel has been described as one of the finest in Kerry, so finding the right wine to complement your meal is easy. The chefs at the hotel create innovative and modern European dishes using the best Irish produce.
The GB Shaw Bistro is in the older part of the property and has taken its name from the play-write George Bernard Shaw who visited the hotel in 1923 with his wife. He loved the hotel and enjoyed reading in the gardens and drinking in the hotel bar. Another bar at the hotel called The Monks Bar is a deeply distinguished public house with comfortable leather couches, low lighting and wood panelled walls. There are an array of fine whisky and great cocktails to choose from.
Molly Darcy’s Traditional Irish Pub and Restaurant has won awards and is an authentic experience, with its beamed ceilings, Irish entertainment, stone walls and open fires. This homely venue has rustic charm and offers home-cooked food, such as Irish stew, seafood chowder, bacon and cabbage and for dessert, bread and butter pudding or apple tart and cream.
Visitors can take home a ‘Molly’s mug’; which is a piece of pottery made locally in Muckross. Traditional Irish Music, Irish dancing and Irish whiskey tastings all take place at the pub.
