Thanks Clem for the great organising and songs and also the rest
of the guys in the band and not forgetting Mareid the girl who
called the ceili dances. City Folk were absolutely fantastic. We

England and really helped everyone to get involved and have fun.
You really got everyone up dancing with really lively tunes and

Just a note to say thank you so much for the legendary
performance at our wedding in Beleek Castle in Ballina Co. Mayo
in May 2008. It’s still talked about as one of the most
entertaining, brilliant and quirky receptions that people had
ever been to. The music and the ceili meant that both the Irish
and Americans, of all ages, joined in and really let loose for
the evening. From the waltzes, ceili songs, the ballads to the
‘hokey pokey’ people couldn't get enough! Dublin city folk’s
charm, punctuality, and effortless liaising back and forth with
us in the weeks leading up to the wedding and excellent price
took a huge amount of stress off us. Brilliant all round. You
are a very unique group with a talent to energise an audience.
We are so glad we didn’t go for the cookie cutter run of the
mill wedding band. The music and the ceili reflected us so much
better and you did us proud! Thanks for making the day so
memorable
– Matt & Laura Steerman
Thanks for the follow up e-mail, we have just got back from
honeymoon so apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
Having you at our drinks reception was one of the best decisions
we made, you created a great atmosphere and entertained the
whole party and people of all ages enjoyed the music and the
sing along. It was great that Father Des could also get involved
and joined in on a few tracks. Many of our guests commented on
the music and delivery and all agreed that it made the afternoon
and was superb entertainment. Thanks for your effort and I would
be happy to recommend to anyone who is interested. You are
right, I was rather busy but did get time to listen to a few
tunes, I did get the tape you left so thanks for that. A great
day all round.
– Paul & Yvonne – Glenview Hotel, Co. Wicklow,
May 2008
Thank you very much for your first class entertainment, everyone
just loved it, the music was wonderful, and the dancers were
superb, everyone is still talking about it. I have all the
rights to all the pictures taken, so as soon as I get them I
will forward some to you. Thanks again your music really made
the day extra special!

I have no hesitation in telling the world of how delighted
Rosalind and I were for the band, Clement. Your caller was a
most polite , understanding and patient teacher! You gave such
pleasure to my guests who were from all parts of the British
Isles and from all traditions. We particularly liked the
formality mixed with genuine sincerity. No false charm.
Musically, you were a delight! Cost: more than reasonable! many
many thanks Clem.

Fantastic trad players created a great atmosphere at our drinks
reception in the Galway Bay Hotel on Friday 1 June 2007. Just
the right ambience. Everyone enjoyed the sound of the
traditional instruments played by excellent musicians. And the
vocals by Dermot Murphy from the Dublin City Ramblers was also
great. Best of all was the value for money! Seamus and Patricia
– The Galway Bay Hotel, Salthill.
The Dublin City Folk Band played at our wedding on the 12th of
May 2007 in the Westin Hotel, Dublin. They were absolutely
super. The entire show was great and their masters of ceremonies
teacher of the dances got everyone up dancing for a ceili
session which everyone enjoyed. Perhaps the best recommendation
we could give was that at least two couples at the wedding
booked the band for their future weddings.
Anne and Lance – The
Westin Hotel.
The Dublin City Folk Music Agency provided a fantastic days
entertainment in the Adare Manor where we held our wedding on
14th April 2007. This top class show had everyone up dancing and
their professional caller of dances did a fantastic job in
explaining and calling the jigs and reels and other dances that
everyone could do. But best of all was the all-in show with
dancers and band and a comedian which was truly a dazzling
occasion with so much on offer. Definitely highly recommended.
Andrew and Clodagh – Adare Manor.
“City Folk are one of the best bands on the folk-scene for
many’s a year. I heartily recommend them. You won’t get a better
band.
(Pete St. John – world famous composer: ‘The Fields Of Athenry’, ‘Dublin In The Rare Old Times’.
“It is always great to hear good musicians, and ‘The City Folk
Trad Band’ is one of the best on the music scene. Talented,
enthusiastic and creative artistes, bringing the free-flowing
message of Irish traditional music and song throughout Europe,
the U.S.A and Australia.”
Pete St. John: World famous composer. |
