Glin Castle in Limerick has been described as the perfect wedding venue. Romantic, intimate and special; the Castle overlooks the River Shannon and the County Clare hills and is set against the most charming of country woodland settings. Epitomising old fashioned country charm, with its four poster beds, roaring log fires and impeccably decorated interiors, Glin Castle is a shining example of a modern, functional, fairytale Castle.
The romantic and idyllic walled gardens provide fabulous photographic opportunities and the fresh air is fortifying. There are only 15 bedrooms in the castle which makes it feel private and personal. The castle sleeps a maximum of 30 guests. A dedicated and responsive staff are eager to make your stay as memorable and enjoyable as possible and a personable and hard working house keeper is also happy to be of service.
The Glin Castle kitchens have made the venue a member of the prestigious Blue Book, a definitive guide to Irish dining and accommodation. Expert chefs cook sumptuous meals made with vegetables and herbs often taken from the Castle’s kitchen gardens. The main dining room can accommodate up to 35 people. A slightly larger room can accommodate up to 50 guests. Character and charm is exuded by the furnishings and a few walls bare family portraits and candelabras. A stunning view from the River Shannon’s estuary to the rolling hills of County Clare can be seen from many of the Castle’s windows.
The Castle has a dedicated personal wedding planner in the form of Helen Russell. Helen is happy to assist in the co-ordination of your wedding, from food to photography, from music to motor vehicles. Helen will also be happy to arrange additional activities such as golf games, or tours of the local landscape. Whatever your needs, Helen Russell is here to help.
