Weddings are a specialty of Black Knights Entertainment.
 
With most of the band and the office staff having tied the knot themselves we understand what it is you need from a wedding band and any other music during your wedding day!

You need a band that is professional in their approach, reliable, energetic and above all, entertaining. With the diverse age group of a wedding celebration, a broad mix of music is required to entertain everyone but not to dwell on one particular genre or type of music.

As you will see from our song list here we offer a selection of music suitable to just about every age group or function, and with 4 lead vocalists, there is an impressive vocal stamp on every song.

Black Knights Entertainment also offers pre-dinner music (e.g. piano), church music and DJs which may be combined with your live entertainment or booked separately to fit with your plans.
 
 
Your First Dance
 
Your first dance is an important choice. If at all possible we would like to perform it live for you – even if it is not currently in our repertoire. However, if you would prefer it played on CD we will facilitate.

If you would like us to listen to your song with a view to performing it, we would need the CD at least 8 weeks before your wedding. This is to facilitate rehearsals and requests from other couples.

  On the Night  
  The band play for 3 hours which includes a 20 minute break while your guests are served tea/coffee and finger food. We will liase with the DJ (whether booked through us or you) to ensure a seamless transition.

Our approach to any performance where dancing is involved, is to provide continuous sets of music for about 20-30 minutes to ensure everyone stays on the floor. As the set builds you will find that while some guests may wish to sit for a few moments they will be quickly replaced by others who are just getting started. A short slow set will then follow to let everyone catch their breath!

Couples are usually curious as to how the timeline works at a wedding reception. As an example, under normal circumstances where music stops at 2am (most hotels request that music finishes at this time), the band would play from 9pm – Midnight (3 hours) and the DJ then playing until 2am (2 hours).

At this point, you may not be sure of the exact times of your wedding so we will finalise this with you closer to the time.

How many musicians are in the band?
The Black Knights is a 4-Piece band featuring keyboards, guitar, drums and a female vocalist. All four band members sing so there is good variety during the night in terms of songs and singers. Plus there is great vocal harmony in every song!
How can I be sure that the group of musicians I hire will be the same musicians who will perform at my wedding/event?
The Black Knights is a “set” group, which means every member in our band will be the same every time. We do not employ freelance musicians. In the event of illness a substitute of equal ability will be employed but this is an extremely rare occurrence.
What is the band’s dress code?
The typical dress code for the band is as you see in the photos; black dress or black suit, white shirt and white tie. This attire will look very elegant at any event, including black tie.
The ages of our guests will vary considerably. Can your band play all types of music?
The versatility of The Black Knights is such that our musicians can authentically perform a wide variety of music ranging from waltz’s, jazz, country, pop and rock. Our song list is extensive and includes music from every era. Have a look here.
Will the band learn a special song?
If you provide four weeks notice, and a CD or MP3 of your song, we will perform it for you on the night. If for any reason we think that we cannot do justice to your song, we will discuss this with you and arrange for it to be performed on CD, but we will do our utmost to accommodate your special request.
How do we make a booking?
To book The Black Knights just call or email us to check our availability and if your date is available we will ask you for a security deposit. You will then be issued with a booking confirmation. After that we will be in contact with you over the months prior to your event to finalise any special requests you may have.

For Corporate Events the fee includes set-up and sound-checks prior to your guests arrival. This ensures that there will be no distraction during dinner or speeches and your guests will be impressed as soon as they enter the room!

With a broad mix of music, everyone will be entertained. Even those who don’t dance will find the performance and musicianship impressive.

  Perhaps you need a microphone for presentations or speeches, or a PA system to play audio or video. Or music during the arrival/drinks reception. Just mention any requests to us and we will help in any way we can.
