An Ancient Site
Bellinter House was built in 1750 and was designed by the
renowned German architect Richard Castle or Cassels, who also
designed the Irish Parliament, Leinster House in Dublin.
Within sight of the Hill of Tara, the ancient seat of the High
Kings of Ireland, Bellinter House was home to both the Briscoe
and subsequently the Holdsworth families before being bought by
the Sisters of Sion in 1965 who lived in this great Palladian
pile.z |
