For weddings Bellinter House is available on a whole house basis Sunday – Friday

Standing majestically on the banks of the River Boyne in the rolling landscape of County Meath, Bellinter House exudes period glamour. We are located just under an hour from Dublin city and Dublin Airport.

The grounds at Bellinter are extensive and have sweeping lawns, ancient trees and a number of secluded spots to relax and laze. There is a labyrinth of local bridle paths, footpaths and trails to explore and bicycles and wellingtons are available for guests to borrow.

For the more energetic hot air ballooning, golf, horse riding and clay pigeon shooting can be arranged. With private fishing rights to 3 miles of the river Boyne, a ghillie to assist and gourmet picnics, Bellinter shines on the river.

The House meticulously preserves its classic Georgian heritage while enhancing it with the best of modern Irish design. Elaborate decorative plasterwork, marble fireplaces and wood paneled walls mix easily with elemental hand-made ash furniture, contemporary lighting, installation art and vintage and handmade furniture.

An Ancient Site
Bellinter House was built in 1750 and was designed by the renowned German architect Richard Castle or Cassels, who also designed the Irish Parliament, Leinster House in Dublin.

Within sight of the Hill of Tara, the ancient seat of the High Kings of Ireland, Bellinter House was home to both the Briscoe and subsequently the Holdsworth families before being bought by the Sisters of Sion in 1965 who lived in this great Palladian pile.z
